Ideas, Plots and Funtime Things

I don't know if I've ever stated this specifically, but one of the things I like about StC and would really like to see more of is for characters to have their own 'plot' or things that they are involved in. A plot can, of course 'belong' to more than one character at a time.

For example: Spyhattery in Obidos and the return to Lisbon - central characters: Stephen, Padstowe and Calderon, later also Raoul and Sharpe

Court-martial in Lisbon - central character: Private Williams but also involving Sharpe, Padstowe and (to a much lesser extent) Cotton

Spyhattery and conversations in Lisbon - central characters: Stephen, Padstowe and Raoul

Flogging Cotton - starring Cotton, Maggie, Edrington. (This was planned for ages and was a major plot for one of my characters.)

In an ideal world, I would like for every character to be centre stage for a bit, though I appreciate that probably won't happen, what with RL, some characters neither needing nor wanting centre stage and whatever other reason you can come up with. But that's what I would like.

One of the reasons I'm posting this is to ask: Does anyone have any ideas of things they'd like to see played out? These don't have to involve their own characters, but could give other people ideas of things they'd like to take part in. For example... 'I'd like to see a scene where a horse bolts with its rider' which a player with a character who rides could use.

I know I really want to see a Company court-martial played out, which would involve Rifles characters. The idea is, it's a court-martial of a soldier by his peers over something not big enough to warrant a Regimental court-martial. Sentence can be something like cobbing or having the man 'turn his coat' for a certain period.

I also want to see a proper skylarking at sea. And maybe that mast-climbing relay race thing.

And if the sailors want to teach Oxley a lesson (not that he needs it...!) I don't mind, though he might.

I just know that there are some characters more on the periphery than others and would love to see more of them, and let them get some character-building done. So, anyone got any ideas, folks?!

I think I'd like to see us get to Oporto, and have the battle - or at least, head in that direction.

I think my characters are doing all right for plot or incident (including bare-back riding and that's not just the horse!). I do not want Orse to bolt with me just now, thank you...

If anyone needs bystanders for their plots, I might be able to provide one.

Did we ever reach a decision about the Riflemen sneaking up to the seminary?

I dunno, but all Sharpie's Riflemen like this idea. Lots.
