And no doubt Blackwood's men would end up cursing roundly when they discovered that they had 'volunteered' to help out with the heavy work of mining the bridge.
Vickery also could not help but be amused at the fact that Torrington and Fraser were both scribbling calculations while he and the other infantry officers were merely sitting and listening.
