numbering threads?
Question from a newbie not used to these games and their ways - would it be useful to number new threads as they pop up in a story, almost like numbering chapters, in case a person wanted to read them chronologically? (For instance, I haven't read ANYTHING in the "By Sea" section yet, so I guess I'll just start with the oldest. But threads don't always end up in exact chronological order - or do they? And maybe some of the threads will be unrelated to the rest of the story(ies) going on, and wouldn't be numbered?
Like making up some titles - 1 Leaving Port, 2 Sailing, 2a Meanwhile on the French Ship, 3 The French attack! etc., where threads 2 and 2a might be taking place at the same time, and then they join up in thread 3.
But like I said, I'm quite a newbie, so this is probably a common element in RPG that everyone's already used to dealing with.
Meanwhile, I'll just start reading the oldest threads and work my way up. Since this forum is still rather new, it shouldn't take me too long.
And by the way, thank you all for being so welcoming and fun!

Re: numbering threads?
I've seriously never thought of numbering threads!! But it would be a good idea I think, as things get more expansive/complicated...
As for the 'By Sea' threads... nothing funky chronologically there. ^^ That I'm aware of.

What about dating them? Deciding this thread takes place - or starts, if it turns into a longer one - on a particular date? Then it should be easy to figure out which order they go in, especially if the date is in the topic title.
Re: numbering threads?
Hmm, that's an idea... I wish there was something in the game like a clock of its own, or... one of those clock faces with the sun and moon rotating. I THINK it's dawn on the road to Lisbon, but maybe it's still the middle of the night. *looks at the sky* Yeah, I'd say we've been fighting and napping for about... 4 hours. Or maybe 5. Or 1. Hard to say with all these clouds.
But then, of course someone would have to choose a date. Or call it "Day 1"? (11 Thermidor?) Some stuff doesn't necessarily need a date - like Stephen's meeting with Wellington, it doesn't really matter exactly when it happened, just that it happened before the other stuff.
But I dunno, I feel like my head hurts, reading about all these characters in pain. Why are we all in so much PAIN? It might get brain-hurty to think of dates... not that I'll be starting any new threads for a while, anyway. I'll leave that to other people.

We're soldiers. It's war time. And soldiers fight, which means sometimes they get hurt.
Maybe the next thread we should start putting dates in. Dunno about times, though...

Re: numbering threads?
It's daylight. Stephen took the ball out of Corbeille's back, and he wouldn't do that in the dark. That was why I could see Calderon. He should take off those dark glasses.

Nobody told ME that!
Meh, times aren't such a big deal. That is, unless the doctor wants to stab my eyes out with a
