TD - 15th Hussars HQ - Major's office

Major McIntyre was momentarily taken aback as there was a doctor entering his office mere moments after he had glared at the door.

"Um... come in, doctor" he said a bit embarrassed at his earlier words. "Yes, it's him... he fainted. Just have a look at him, if you could be so kind. He has to get back to his duties soon."

Pierce noticed the embarassement of his superior officer and turned to Sinclair: 'I heard he had a concussion, Doctor, but I do not know if he aggravated his injury anymore since then. Right now, my bet would be that he fainted from the combination of nervous strain and relief'. He smirked down at Willoughby. 'And he just had some whiskey, as for the rest, Willowy will have to tell you himself.'

"..The last time. Drinking ..more, or just some, sir?" He asked, for he had just a few moments ago been given Whisky to drink. On the other hand he had drunk till he was unable to stand that night. And then Pierce answered so that he needn't mention the first.

"It isn't that why I fainted at all...I'm sure." He tried to smile, aware of the two officers still there in the room. The two officers who had been vile with anger before.

Rob looked around him, considering. "Would I be able ter have a less crowded room, then?" if there was nothing wrong with the rest of them, he didn't need them here, "Unless ye think I'll let him run away afore ye've finished with him."

There was a slightly awkward pause, and he looked down at Willoughby. Clearly he'd drunk more than just the whiskey, but he didn't like his chances of hearing all the lads indescretions with so many people about.

McIntyre was surprised that he was requested to leave his office. "How much room do you need, doctor?" he looked irritated at Pierce. He did not know much about the way doctors worked, besides the little one encountered when being in the Army.

RObert looked round. A less- than correct answer about the amount of rank each man had would have set the matter straight, but he had a job ter do first, and he couldn't do it without their blessing.
"enough ter de me job, sir, and a little over ter do it well." He'd decided that if they couldn't pick up the idea of him wanting to know the more truthful answers, then he couldn't get them to realise. He wasn't one for intrigue anyway.

Willoughby remained in place, silent but listening to the talk between the doctor, the major and possibly soon the captain might pipe in as well. He was feeling a rather content kitty, drunk with joy as much as the whisky which they had given him while they waited for the doctor.

Pierce nodded, then taking the pelisse off his shoulder placed it where his knees were: under Willoughby's head. He rose and walked over to the Major: 'Sir, there is something I've been to meaning show you, but left the papers in the other office, shall we take a look at them while the good Doctor checks on Willoughby?' Pierce practically started to drag the Major out of the room.

Robert made a note to employ less pungent smells in the next dose he mixed up for Pierce, and turned to Willoughby.
"Right. How much did ye drink, then, and can ye lift yer head a littler fer me, please?"

"What kind of papers, Pierce?" he snapped, as he followed him out of his office, still not quite sure if he should really desert it thus.

"..now, sir?.. two glasses of Whisky.. I think." It wasn't any knowledge that he needed to hide even with the departing or not departing two officers. He slowly did as he was requested, and moved his arms to his sides, propping himself onto his elbows. With hands in fists keeping him well balanced enough he looked at Sinclair.

"I've been given that.. by my officers.. sir." He hesitated. "...though that was after I..." He tried to smile as if it were nothing. "After I've been.. a slight shaky. " Describing the fainting.

"ANd last night and t'night afore, laddie?" He was keeping his voice gentle enough, he reckoned, slightly chiding but that was all. He wasn't going to lecture on the evils of drink, only administer if he absolutely had to.

"Hold yerself there, then." he felt around gently, probing under the lads hair and checking for anything untoward under the skin whcih might need attention. Though more than likely it was a simple faint to be remedied by a lie down int he shade, with water and few clothes on.

"I haven't drunk any the night afore last night." He answered truthfully. But yesterday, what was yesterday? Ah, too much.

"Yesterday I.."He spoke in whisper unwilling that either of the two officers would hear him. "...I've. Well..don't know the count of it, sir." He murmured. He observed a spot on the fall before him, while keeping upright asa he was asked by the doctor.

"SO ye drunk more'n enough, then, ye'd say?" THere was nothing specifically there, as he'd thought.

"Ye hurt anywhere, laddie?"

"..No, sir. Just a bump on the back of my head from yesterday." He remembered that damned sergeant of the redcoats who tipped him over. If he was anything to go by, it wasn't the Hussars that needed a good few changes! And not he who was to be condemned.

"Even my leg's healing fine." He smiled, glad about that. "I've said I was alright.. yet they insisted. ..And so it is, no , sir?"

"Yer leg, me lad, will be completely fine when I say so, but ye'd best be doing some work, I hear, yes?"

He was tempted to prod at the leg, and did so, spanning the whole limb with firm fingers and palms. "Yer getting there, laddie, slowly." he smiled up at the face in front of him.
So, a mere faint, with probably not enough water, and all the dust wasn't helping, either. "Ye'll be having ter drink more water, then, laddie, and I'll be getting ye ter rest a littler afore ye get up again."

"Ow!" It was at a certain angle and press of Sinclair's fingers that the Hussar felt the slight stab of pain. His ankle might have been nearly there, but it sure wasn't fully. He jerked his leg a little, then settled it beck smiling.

"'Except for my stable duty, I can assure you I shan't do much else. ..Not even drinking." He spoke with a slightly amused tone. "Nor walking about in the night." He added with good humour and a grin. He was going to be under guard till his second trial was finished and the punishment given. No need to sob about it though.

Robert nodded, removing his hands, "Well, I'll ae be talking about it....ye ken what yer subject too, and I not so well."

There was a small smile returned, and he stood, clicking his knees. "Water, though, ye need. and if ye can wriggle out of some of them clothes, so much the better."

"Understood sir. " He smiled. "Thank you, doctor." He added and slowly sat then began to move upward steadily till he could stand on his two feet. He picked up the pelisse that his captain has used to keep his head upright and folded it neatly, dusting it thoroughly. He didn't want a speck of dust to remain on it, and be seen once his captain would have requested it returned.

Robert proceeded him through the door, and added, thoughtfully, "I'm sure t'water will set ye right, but let me have a further look at that leg of yourn later, will ye?"

Not that he was particularly worried about it, more interested now, given no huge amounts of lasting damage were likely to be done, so long as he stayed off it as much as possible. Although, he reflected, that was unlikely to happen.

However, you couldn't ask someone to turn up so he could check they'd been drinking enough water. "ANd d'ye have any idea where them two went off ter look at paperwork, laddie?" although just around the corner was probably as good a guess as any.

"Yes sir. However often ye wish to see it." He smiled amused. "For as long as you decide not to cut it." He chuckled softly at the doctor. "A Hussar has to draw a line somewhere after all, ofcourse."

He listened on for a short while before again responding,

"..I would suspect ... here sir." He lead the way towards the office that he and Waldegrave have first arrived in. ".. Here perhaps.."

Rob grinned back, "Don't tempt me, now. Tis a while since I've acquired an extra leg. or two."

He eyed the door suspiciously. It wasn't that he didn't like talking to people, but the effect of all the pompousnous of rank and such was still having a toll on him. "Well, if they aren't in there, I shall certainly hunt them out, I'm sure. Or they will come back and find us gone, so telling them the same thing." He knocked briefly and added, "Now go and drink- water only, mind you."

Pierce looked up from the papers he was showing to the Major, who now occupied at sit at what served as Pierce's desk earlier today.
'Come.' He called at the sound of the knock.

Accordingly, Rob poked his head round the door, before entering fully and nodding. "He's up and about, sir, but not fit yet fer t'more strenuos tasks."
He glanced once at the papers, unpleasently reminded that after every patient there were always papers he had to fill out.

'Up and about? And where is he? And when is he going to be fir for more strenous tasks, Doctor?' asked Pierce sternly. The boy had a punishment to serve. He glanced briefly at the Major hoping the man did not mind him asnwering.
