Here's Padstowe (only imagine with thinner cheeks, lighter hair and a 19th Century haircut);

Not bad! Having faces for names is great.
I have a couple, for the Marines at least.

Not quite! I've got one non-horse photo to add.
Here's Bolitho's steward Catchpole (except he'd be a little older and have longer hair):

If anyone's interested here are pictures of Lady Helen Winwood and her brother Major Winwood.

Re: Putting faces to names
Heh, I don't know why it's funny, but you listed their names in the reverse order of their pictures. (Major Winwood is so pretty! But his sister... she needs to shave those sideburns off.)
I like your new Hunter picture! I liked the old one too, but this one really looks exactly Hunterish.

Re: Putting faces to names
Huh, I did list them the wrong way, didn't I? He does, doesn't he? When I saw the pic, I was like 'Hell, that's Hunter, and not too different form the verbal description'! Ooo, I also have a pic of 'new' Hunter looking intense and a liitle scary.

He's dead. XD Ok, that was in very poor taste, but that photo was taken years ago.

Yeah, I just looked him up and thought, "Oh what a shame, he's dead!"

Re: Putting faces to names
It is, though in all honesty the movies he made closer to his death were so crap compared to his early ones.

Aww, cute! Who is he?
Um, ditto a Carty pic, because although I love my av and don't plan to change it, I love this pic too:

Re: Putting faces to names
He's from Mary Bryant, but because I was zipping through it screen-capping, I wasn't watching it properly. I think it's Sam, played by Abe Forsythe, but I'm not 100% sure of it.
I do know it's not the same person as in my banner and av, but the pic of him asleep looks like it is. (You can see it's not in the waking shots, is how I know! Plus, the age is wrong. Awake, he's definitely older, and there was only a couple of years or between when M&C and MB were made. Though maybe Oxley has an older brother...)

Re: Putting faces to names
Me again.
Found this while looking through a recent acquisition - The Battle of Trafalgar: Nelson's Victory. Most of the shots are fuzzy, which is really annoying, but I got this one.
'Little' Jacky Fisher. (Full shot here.) Named for a relation. Dad tells me that when he used to go visiting his great-grandma (I think it was...) she'd say "Here comes little Jacky Fisher!" Jacky Fisher grew up to be his grandad, but apparently Dad looked like him at that age. And I like the name.

Re: Putting faces to names
Well, my Claggart is a mix. Although I adore Robert Ryan *insert melting icon*, I imagine him younger. My avatar is Eric Halfvarson, a very creepy and amazing bass, and this pic is Philip Ens, a very hot young Canadian bass. Only heard him as Fafner, but he looks almost perfectly like I imagine the character.
I also made some drawings of him (this one is book!version):
Gahh. Forgot to erase a little part behind his arm and his back after adding the blue layer...

Re: Putting faces to names
I was wondering whether 'our' Oxley (Private Tom Oxley, Marine drummer boy aged sixteen going on seventeen) had an older brother, when I posted a pic of Pte Oxley asleep.
He does, as you will know if you read the Oporto: Naval Shore Parties thread.
He has his own icon:
Here's a couple of bigger pictures of him:

Re: Putting faces to names
More names and faces. I've recently decided to match names to faces for Terpsy's Marine contingent - or at least, the ones I'm responsible for. I can't figure out how to put them two wide across the post space, with names underneath, so it's a long post. Sorry.

And I've found faces for Shriver and Jimmy the Greek, though they're not mine. If the actual inventors aren't happy with these, I can take them down. Apologies for them being rather dark.

Re: Putting faces to names
Here's a pic that I thinks looks like it could be Sam Oxley not long after he was pressed. Possibly.
