Good! Looking forward to meeting them! And oh, this place does seem like much fun already! Just need to wait for a verdict on where mr. Mathew should be placed as mid. Well hello and thanks again!

Not all of us are troublemakers though. I'm trying really hard to be a good. obedient midshipman - and Captain Bolitho is my hero.

It looks as if we are going to merge the two ships we have now, one way or the other, because we all enjoyed fighting on the deck of the French Nerry eyed, and meeting people rather than resorting to signal flags. So - you'll be my shipmate. I'm on my first trip, though, which means you can tell me all about how awful it is, and... Whatever. Welcome. The crew is about somewhere, and there will, once we're merged, be Marines. The question of the passenger is still to be decided.

Private Thompson asks me to let you know that Colonel Edrington will be joining aboard HMS New Ship, if he has to put him in irons to make sure he's there.

Welcome to the board! Glad you've decided to join us! Wow, I actually managed to recruit someone? I guess more people read my dA journal than I thought.

The situation with the ships is a bit up in the air at the moment, but everything will be back to normal once we get it all sorted out. In the meantime, I'll look forward to having you aboard!

To Midshipman Yates: Oh I am most certain that the terrible things of the captains and their cruel ways shall not remain a secret to you. Haha, well do beware of the foul temper, should master De Guarde so choose to show it!

As to answer your question (boy, too many answers make writing a response a confusing ordeal, do hope I've not confused any further with my reply!) Bolitho. I must say It was a stroke of luck first (ofcourse good fortune in finding the art and then stumbling across the journal as well!). Must say a good thing you've .. ahem.. press ganged the poor and innocent !

*takes the liberty of tipping Mr. De Guarde's grog ration over the side of the ship*

It was my medical opinion that it was the necessary thing to do, Mister De Guarde. I would learn to keep that "foul temper" of yours under control in future.

On what grounds do you believe that a ration of grog would have been harmful to one of perfect health? Might I not even try to consider what you are to suggest for me to drink in it's place!

I believe that the grog ration happens to be harmful to everyone - for I, young man, actually know what a population lives therein - but for a squeaker, confused, and threatening to unleash his temper upon his fellows? Well. My action was proven to be the correct one by the way you addressed me - rude in a gentleman, and absolutely appalling in a midshipman. You are lucky I do not dose you, to fully rid you of the effects of the ration already consumed.

And I'll have you know that I am Chapel-reared - barely a drop touches my lips. I just thought his Lordship needed a bit of help in responding to so forward a suggestion.
