"Alright here, lads?" Burke asked, hoping to diffuse a bit of the tension.

All right? Mayden didn't trouble himself to glance at Pye. "Lovely," he said.

Pye sighed and shrugged. "...Couldn't be better." Or worse. Well, perhaps with some help of Mayden, it could get a lot worse. He tried a good, positive smile, looking up. "yourself?"

"'M just fine, me," Burke said, smiling at both men as though completely unaware of the atmosphere. He peered down at his flint, pretending to be completely absorbed in the task.

"What's goin' on here, then?" he asked, tone purposely offhand, not looking up.

"Nothin'." Though, with Burke he could certainly have something going on, like taking him to see Friedrich and what treasure they had brought home. "...jus' something that happened earlier today....sort of." He looked sheepish."...We caught ourself an officer...an' we've helped t' 33rd an t' Hussars... only,we ...well there was this little detail about it."

The little detail of them not even supposed to be there in the first place!

'A little detail', Mayden's foot. "Oh aye," he sneered, glancing up briefly. "That detail bein' that he wasn't s'posed to go no-place outside of camp."

"..Actually, it was: not to go far and ter be at all times with someone of t' rifles, and ter be at hand if needed. It didn' specifically say.. not ter leave camp altogether as I was permitted ter go to the water if with someone else." He answered. Yes, he had been in the wrong for straying far, but he did not feel that he was in the wrong for having taken a step out of camp.
