Before it runs out of my head and goes chasing others (and while this was already thought off before, but to refresh memory too? Very Happy) , I was wondering whether at some later time we would be interested in playing out a disease on board.

It could be simply either something that is thought to have been a disease but is later learned to be something else (even so much so as food going bad).

Or it can be a disease that brings many into bed feeling terribly ill and looking like they would be about to die? (now if we really needed , some of the npcs could die to make it realistic or we could just have the worst scare but with a positive result?

So basically. Anybody got any ideas, suggestions, opinions or what not on this? Can be an idea to keep in the back of mind for some time in the future (distant or not).

P.S. Sharpie made me write this down! *huff* :p

I meant, there'll be so many folks wanting to use the heads at once that they'll be queueing with their legs crossed... and probably the queue'll go all round the weatherdeck..

Many sailors have queues on their heads already.

Are we winding down the sickness threads? That's fine with me. I was planning on killing off my midshipman Docker, probably off screen. Anybody up for a mass funeral? Or if not, it could give the midshipmen something to talk about, if they run out of topics of conversation.

I don't care. I'm happy to have him just disappear as if he never existed (which he only barely did, really.) But if any of that sounds like fodder for gameplay that anyone else is interested in, there you go. (And again, I emphasize, I don't care. As Docker, I'm dead and don't have any feelings.)

While I'm at it, I think I'll kill off Bridgens too. I'll say that they die on June 8.

Can we kill off the cook so we don't have to spell Kociuszko? I'm thinking I might take up NPCing a replacement cook.

Oh, stop killing off people. It's a horrible practice. Just let them be somewhere in the background if you don't feel like playing them. They'll appreciate it more.

I didn't even know we had a cook by that name, whose was it?

No, killing people off is good if they have a specific rank. Docker's a midshipman and Bridgens is the loblolly boy, so if I'm not playing them I should free up their slots for someone else to have a turn.

He was an NPC named by a former player a long time ago. He seldom gets mentioned, but he's in the muster list.

I would think the funeral a nice idea, but I don't think it is necessary to kill off the others. Bridgens and the cook might simply have changed positions.

I don't think the cook was ever mentioned by name in any game-play threads... so I can easily take him off the muster list if/when someone wants to come up with a substitute name!
