"Get to work!" That had the boys squeal and scatter, avoiding the bosun's rattan and fury.

De Guarde joined the running lads, though his head had him stumble twice more before he'd made considerable progress. Blasted explosion and walls, all those be cursed. He spared a glance to where earlier they have seen the lieutenants disappear and at the marine that was standing guard.

"Quickly now. Make way." A chest was being brought past them. De Guarde made it to the companionway. "Much to be done, don't need t' look like first timers with all t' ships watchin'." There would be enough time to talk about their new arrivals or even see them in action, but that was for later. Now, the ship needed to be prepared for sail.

Claggart went after the lieutenants. He knew where the officers' cabins used to be, and his instincts were good. He didn't enter, of course, but waited outside. He was sure he'd have a lot to do very soon.
He heard the speech about the brandy and smiled. Drinking. A weakness in the lieutenant... he was very good noticing and not forgetting other's weaknesses. They can come handy later.

Leat could not help but raise and eyebrow. Deverel had certainly knocked that back quick enough...
