Well, Dwerry might not eat you out of house and home, but he'll certainly take a stab at it! For pink wafers, anyhow.

Hm, wasn't it so that, if you arrived on a new ship, you were automatically the 'lowest' lieutenant on it? And had to work your way up from there? *rubs sleepy eyes*

All in all, I think Bush is the oldest, Leat following suit, so if anything best see his commission or just set an age you would deem proper. .

No - that used to be the way, but by our time, seniority in the date of being commissioned as a lieutenant counted. You often see it in the Aubrey/Maturin series where a new First Lieutenant arrives - he doesn't have to start at Fifth Lieutenant.

Greetings! I'm Trelane, a new player (you'll find me sometimes calling myself a 'handler') on your lovely board. I've also been playing PBP RPG's for a number of years, mostly in the fantasy genre. This is my first venture into historical however, so excuse my slip-ups. I do love research and look forward to getting to know this era.

I searched out Sharpe RPGs on google after viewing the series -- I've not yet read the books but will try to do that this winter when the bad weather drives me indoors -- and your site popped up, and you look just as advertised, a 'friendly' site. I'm in MAD-LOVE of your short posts, emphasis on dialogue, and utter LACK of purple-prosers!

And uh.... I guess anything else, you and I will learn along the way!

It's good to have you and another female character! You must meet the other young ladies in the Crown (one of them is not in 'Peninsular play' yet either) and I am sure the younger officers (and the senior ones too) are very much looking forward to meeting you!



I play a German cavalry captain (as I am really German I thought that would explay any language difficulties) and I'm on UTC+2, so we may not have a chance to interact much (*snif*), the transatlantic threads are sometimes a bit slow...


As for activities... there was talk about a game of Cricket... (No previous knowledge required.hehehe.(exept that the ball should not be in the punchbowl))

I think the servants would rather you didn't use the Officers' Mess dining table for a cricket pitch, either, von Lossow.
