Estimada Señora Gateta,

if your temper is still what it was, you might need this. If you have aquired a smidgeon of patience and a morsel of mercy for mankind, though, you will tell whoever dares to show you impudence to repeat his words in front of the Spanish delegation, where you have friends who know you better than English scoundrel ever will.

Un cordial saludo - en lloc d'un petó que mai em va concedir

[found sealed on a small table in the entrance hall on the 6th October 1814, together with a beautiful faca; servants were unable to ascertain which of the various visitors of day might have left it]

[It was not untill evening that Ines discovered the letter, thinking at first that it belonged to yet another of the letters they recieved since Lady Estefania became the target of gossip. It was pure luck then, that she had not ordered it put with the others, which would most probably mean its demise. Having found that it contained a rather peculiar gift, she delievered the letter to her friend. There was no return address or signature on it and Lady Estefania did not explain whether she knew, whom the letter belonged to, or not. The faca however seemed to remain in her posession and was particularly frequent in her company when she was to depart their accomodation closer to the evening when danger was greater and more of the questionable folk was at work. It seemed that in response to the slander, her poise retained an ever so regal feel and calmness she had never reserved for the French.]
