86e at Talavera?
Not trying to rush things, this is just a very, very preliminary thread to get a general idea of where things stand for whenever this all goes down:
Ok, so the 86e weren't actually present at Talavera. They were with Soult to the north. But since, for the purposes of StC, Soult doesn't come back into the picture until after Talavera, the 86e are considered to be moonlighting with Victor's corps.
As far as the actual battle itself, I'd like to suggest Ruffin's division as the temporary home of the 86e, because it seems, at least initially to have been pitted against the British 2nd Division (our StC lads). This would also allow them to take part in the night assault on the Medellin Hill (also against 2nd Division) the night before the battle.
I'm also thinking it might be best not to get much more specific than this? Because A) it's a game, and the regiment's already AU, so let's have some fun with that, and B) less detail = more flexibility which may help ameliorate the potential breakdowns in communication which have a tendency to happen in larger threads.
Thoughts?

Personally I don't see any problem with it. I do wonder if I can get Duuring into the battle, somehow. I'll figure something out

I'm good with anything as long as no harm comes to the kittens.

Yes, those seem like good options, outis, to me. We have so many chars in the 86eme that to have that regiment miss the battle, as they did historically, would put a real crimp on our Froggie writers.
Also Keiju, about the kittens. We must declare no kittens shall be harmed in the making of this battle!

(We've got the 33rd in the Peninsula, which they weren't historically. They were at Walcheren in 1809, and at Waterloo. But not in Spain! So... We're AU when it comes to things like that.)

(Ha, Walcheren. If there ever was an ill-faded campaign )

Re: 86e at Talavera?
(Napoleon going into Russia in time for winter 1812 was pretty ill-thought-out, too, of course.)
Re: 86e at Talavera?
Huzzay!
Also, aww kittens. I've already written out that Charcot gets wounded and captured by the Brits, but I keep missing the kittens and wishing he could have one with him for comfort. I'm hoping he'll get stuck in someone's house in Talavera and maybe they'll have a cat. (And maybe the Spanish householders won't kill him in his sleep if they see that he's nice to their cat.)

Hush, it will if I make it. Besides, the French will take over soon after anyway.

Re: 86e at Talavera?
Yes of course, in the end things will turn out just spectacular for Nappy's boys in Spain. And Napoleon will rule all of Europe and it will be swell.

And there will be liberty and kittens for all.

Re: 86e at Talavera?
And what about the Dutch? Will we get a share of the kittens too?

Re: 86e at Talavera?
I am really going to have to insist on this one, NO kittens for the Dutch! There simply are not enough to go around, you understand.......
