Mission for Terpsy: Discussion post

It came up in conversation in the Cbox that some folks would like there to be at least a rough idea of a mission and/or orders for Terpsy.

Personally - and this is only my personal opinion as a player - I don't like planning things out. I prefer the spontaneity of randomly deciding there's a frigate on the horizon, let's investigate, and feel that planned out stuff tends to drag on and die. But that's just me, as I say.

Would people like me to come up with some open-ended orders along the lines of Jack Aubrey's orders about Acheron: "Sink, burn or take her a prize!"?

Secondly.
It was also mooted that Terpsy could be sailing in company with another (NPC) ship, as a way of explaining where new characters have appeared from, although this could theoretically cut down on her freedom to do interesting stuff.

Do people think this could be a good idea? (If so, toss some suitable name suggestions at me - I lost the list I had when trying to decide on a name for Terpsichore.)

I liked when we took the French fort, we had a goal to take the French fort. That was all the planning we needed, and it was great.

I just don't like sailing around waiting for something to happen and not having some event to look forward to. You know me - I don't like the slice-of-life chit-chatting everyday activity stuff. I like action that moves the plot forward. Like... watching a movie instead of a living history interpretation.

I would like to have some goal that we can look forward to - like the simple object of "Take a French Fort", but it's up to circumstance how we do so.

For a broader goal, perhaps the hunt for L'Herisson could do? Or something along those lines?

That could be... fun.
