Description: Samuel is tall and has a slim build, with curly blonde hair and blue eyes. His overall attitude is usually haughty and aloof; he tends to only turn on his considerable charm when in the company of ladies. He only ever wears the finest clothes he can get, though this is sometimes difficult to achieve when his finances periodically run out. Unlike his brother Gareth, he is more adept at making people like him, though whether he deserves such appreciation is another matter entirely.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
--He is decidedly smart and rather cunning, though he usually only uses those talents to get what he wants.
--He is skilled in the gentlemanly arts of riding, fencing, hunting, and shooting.
--He is well-versed in the ways of society and uses his connections to the best advantage.
--He is a compulsive gambler and ladies' man, yet he sees absolutely nothing wrong with this.

Background: Samuel was born the third son of the Viscount Woodmarsh and spent his early years at his family's estate in Wiltshire. As the youngest son, he had never been under as much pressure as his brothers, and consequently developed a rather laid-back, devil-may-care attitude about life. Nevertheless, though he was glad to not have high expectations placed on him, he felt that his parents did not care about him as much as his brothers. This gave him a desire to excel in his studies and training, in the hopes that he might best his brothers in some way. Yet he was never so focused that he did not develop some vices--gambling and women, predominately--the pursuit of which has led to some quarrels with his father over the years when he runs out of money.

Being that his eldest brother was to inherit the family title and his second brother was to be sent into the army, Samuel's parents had anticipated him becoming a clergyman. However, that was absolutely the last thing Samuel wanted to do with his life, and he fought against his parents terribly. They finally relented, on the grounds that, instead, he make a suitable match with a woman having a sizable amount of money. That was a much more appealing task for Samuel, given his love of the ladies, so he has been continually on the prowl both in London and in the country for some time now, looking for a lady that he may deem worthy of his affections.
