The year is 2005 with the world of Mutants out in the public's eye due to the heroics of the X-Men defeating Magneto and the Brotherhood of Evil in New York and the very public actions of one Col. William Stryker.

After the attacks on the Xavier school for gifted children with US Armed Forces by Col. William Stryker he went into hiding, but only from the Media. He has used the connections to form two groups against the Mutants. Friends of Humanity is a group of normal humans who wish for the mutant problems to come to an end. They normally take the non violent and legal actions to get their goals but there are those who resort to violence. The Purifiers are a fanatical group of military personnel who carry out covert missions all over the world and bring the fight directly to the mutants. Bolivar Trask has begun construction on Master Mold in Genoshia to eradicate the mutants but needs more mutants to build better models and better programs.

With the world becoming more aware of Mutants, groups becoming more radical in their beliefs, and an increase in attempts to make Mutants register there is a chance for the trained mutants to grow. Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto have begun recruiting campaigns to bolster their numbers for their cause. However, those two groups are not the only ones out there. There are also rumors of a mutant cure in existence somewhere.

Mutants are disappearing off of the streets.

Governments are at a critical junction on the mutant registration act.

Magneto is preparing for a war.

The Hellfire Club wants control.

Professor Xavier and the X-Men are in search of a peaceful solution.
