Ich Dien

We begin in July of 1812.

The luddites have been destroying machines up North, the Prime Minister, Spencer Perceval, has been assassinated, Wellington continues to battle Napoleon in the peninsula, and England’s economy is in flux as they go to war with the Americans. At the same time, much of society continues in the same way as it always has and the King Street Cabal dominates Almacks, men take their sweethearts to Gunters for ices, and shocking amounts of money are lost at gentlemen's clubs.

At Ich Dien, we sweep into the halls of parliament to debate England’s future, peek into the parlors of abolitionists, the smoky hum of clubs, the warehouses of new industrialists, and the spaces in between where spies pass information. We take you into the ballrooms, and drawing rooms of London, its parks and promenades.
