To Major, Viscount Torrington, Belamine House, London
Dear Torrington,
While I am fully aware that it is terrible of me to claim that I should look forward to such a destruction, the idea of participating in the experiment feels very agreeable to me. The proposed date and time is equally dandy. Should the invitation be still applicable, I would be delighted to meet you for breakfast so that it leaves us enough time to prepare all that is needed without haste or apprehension and also for the company. In this case please notify me of the acceptable hour at which I may come to your home. I will bring two violins, one you may recall I have obtained in Spain, and the old one that I have been instructed on when younger. I should think that one should not have a greater chance of producing the desirable sound and its successful pitch, than the other, but for the purposes of remaining impartial in this experiment we might try with both. Should there be anything else that I should not forget bringing, please also let me know. I look forward to this meeting and yet I hope that your tableware will find it in itself to forgive me.
Your most obedient servant,
Gywdyr

Dear Gwydyr,
if you would just bring yourself and your violins, I think I can provide the rest. Two violins are a very good idea - I will also provide several different types of glasses. Will you also bring some proper music? I would love to hear how your Spanish instrument sounds now that you had her properly cleaned and strung up.
I will be riding in the Park at half past six and be home and cleaned up at eight. You may call at any point after that. Rottlaender begs most humbly to inform you that he will have his tea ready for you.
Your most obedient etc.,
Torrington

Re: To Major, Viscount Torrington, Belamine House, London
Dear Torrington,
I will most gladly bring more music sheets with me. I believe I have a few that allow for singing and for the playing of a few different instruments, including a piano. I have already prepared some just as I write to you. If we can spare a few moments outside, I might provide some further entertainment.
If you should accept, I would like to call on you at 8:30, or the latest nine. Please choose the time you would prefer more.
Please do also relay my gratitude to Rottlaender and that I would most delight to have that tea he so skillfully makes.
Your faithful friend,
Gwydyr

Re: To Major, Viscount Torrington, Belamine House, London
Dear Torrington,
I have an additional performance that I would wish to do with your blessing and for the purposes of it I would need to be accompanied by a skillful player of the castanetes. I would like first to inquire whether you would allow that I ask Lady Da Almeida, should she be willing and that she comes with me to your home or would you prefer that I find another.
Always faithful,
Gwydyr

Re: To Major, Viscount Torrington, Belamine House, London
Dear Gwydyr,
you intrigue me! Of course you may ask Senhora Da Almeida - a friend who helped us so much in the Peninsula will always be welcome in my home, and Bella will be more than intrigued if she brings her castagnettes and demonstrates their use. Do you need any special preparation for that performance?
Your curious friend,
Torrington

Re: To Major, Viscount Torrington, Belamine House, London
Dear Torrington,
I shall only need a room, the one we have occupied last time should be wonderful, and enough space for the lady to move. The rest I shall keep secret for now, though I hope you shall find it enjoyable. Do you perhaps have castanets at home? Do not fret if you do not, for I shall certainly have them appear.
