The skirmish of the 1st June

The threads in question are:
Aches and Pains - for those with the baggage
Rifles on Retreat - for those with the Rifles/rearguard
Wounded in Action - following the actual confrontation wit the French
The Prisoners } - The aftermath, for those taken prisoner.
Les Prisonniers } These two again run simultaneously
The idea is that, as players, we wanted a bit of action. So, as we'd already had a bit of a skirmish with the French, we decided that the French would do their best to disrupt things.

They have had a skirmish with the Rifles, sent cavalry in and done their best to get into the baggage. Before they engaged, Vickery sent word back to the main column, requesting reinforcements.

However, he has been injured in the skirmish, his Company scattered (to be gathered together by Sharpe and brought back to the column) and currently the British cavalry are moving forward to take on the French.

In the Prisoners thread, Cotton, Newbury and Pye have found themselves prisoners of the French, as have several of the women in the Les Prisonniers thread.

The idea is that the Riflemen - and anyone else taken prisoner - will attempt to escape. Being Other Ranks, they are not expected to give parole or to keep to the terms of such an agreement.

Historically, women were generally sent back to their own army, so I presume that's what will (eventually) happen to our women here, too.
